What should you check before reimporting a Housecall Pro price book?

1. Keep the original file

Do not overwrite the export you started from. You need it as a source of truth for change review and rollback.

2. Check what changed

• How many rows changed?
• Which columns changed?
• Did any price or cost become zero?
• Did categories or industries change?
• Did any identifier disappear?
• Was any source column removed?

3. Check required values

Confirm that required service or material fields are still populated and mapped correctly. Blank required values can be introduced accidentally during filtering, fills, copy and paste, or spreadsheet cleanup.

4. Check the CSV or Excel structure

Verify the real header row, column alignment, quoting, workbook sheet structure, and file type before uploading. A file that opens in Excel is not automatically a safe import file.

5. Review unusual business changes

Structural validity and business correctness are different checks. A valid file can still contain an unintended zero price, category move, missing column, or large bulk change. The free Change Audit is designed for this before and after review.
