Housecall Pro Data Import or ImportFix?

Housecall Pro already offers an import wizard and, for MAX customers, a Data Import team. ImportFix is a separate self-service QA layer. The better choice depends on what problem you are trying to solve.

Use the Housecall Pro importer when you are ready to import

Housecall Pro's current importer accepts price-book files, maps source columns to HCP fields, checks formatting and gives you a chance to correct errors. It is the authoritative final step because Housecall Pro controls what the account accepts.

Use the Housecall Pro Data Import team when you want managed help

Housecall Pro states that MAX customers can work with its Data Import team for customers, job history, equipment and Price Book data. The basic transfer option is free. Housecall Pro also states that multiple files or formatting outside the standard transfer scope can carry an additional cost.

Its current Price Book error guide says users can email a CSV or Excel price book to the Data Import team for formatting and upload, with a typical timeline of 2 to 3 business days.

Use ImportFix when you want a self-service review before import

ImportFix does not replace the HCP importer or the Data Import team. It is useful when you have an original export and an edited file and want to know what changed before the re-import. It can also run a single-file validation and preview supported deterministic repairs.

A practical decision rule

  • You want HCP to handle the transfer: use Housecall Pro's Data Import route if your plan and project qualify.
  • You are ready to upload: use Housecall Pro's native importer.
  • You are still editing the spreadsheet: keep the original export and review changes before re-import.
  • You want to see what changed between two versions: that is the ImportFix Change Audit use case.
  • You are unsure: a small test import remains the safest final check after file QA.

Sources and verification date

Housecall Pro service details on this page were checked against its official Help Center on September 9, 2026. Plan eligibility, fees and timelines can change, so verify the current HCP documentation for your account before making a purchase or migration decision.

ImportFix is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Housecall Pro.

Edited a price-book file already?

Compare the original and edited CSV/XLSX first, then scan the final file for supported import issues. No account or Housecall Pro API key required.
