Housecall Pro Price Book Checker
Upload a CSV or Excel price book and get a deterministic report of everything that could break your Housecall Pro import — with supported issues repaired automatically.
Importing a price book into Housecall Pro fails for boringly consistent reasons: a missing category, a price with a stray currency symbol, a duplicate SKU, or an invisible character pasted from another spreadsheet. The checker looks for these problems row by row so you are not debugging a rejected import by trial and error.
What the checker looks at
- File structure: delimiters, quoting, column counts, blank or duplicate headers.
- Required fields: industry, category and item name present on every row (price is optional — Housecall Pro defaults a blank price to $0).
- Numbers: valid prices and costs where present, negative values, and price-below-cost warnings.
- Consistency: duplicate rows, duplicate names, and duplicate SKUs.
- Safety: spreadsheet-formula injection and HTML-like content in text fields.
What it repairs for you
Only deterministic, non-destructive fixes are applied automatically — trimming whitespace, collapsing double spaces, normalizing booleans and units, converting messy numbers to a canonical format, removing empty rows, and escaping dangerous formula characters. It never invents a missing industry, category or name.
