What the checker looks at
- File structure: delimiters, quoting, column counts, blank or duplicate headers.
- Required fields: industry, category and item name present on every row.
- Numbers: valid prices and costs where present, negative values, and price-below-cost warnings.
- Consistency: duplicate rows, duplicate names, and duplicate SKUs.
- Safety: spreadsheet-formula injection and HTML-like content in text fields.
What it repairs — and what it does not
ImportFix applies only deterministic, non-destructive fixes such as trimming whitespace, collapsing double spaces, normalizing booleans and units, cleaning numeric formats, removing empty rows, and escaping dangerous formula characters. It does not invent a missing industry, category, item name, identifier, or price.
Private by design
The scan, comparison, and preview run in your browser. Your price-book rows are not uploaded to an ImportFix server for analysis. You pay only when you choose to unlock a corrected download.

- No. ImportFix works with CSV and Excel files and does not require a Housecall Pro login or API key.
